Before you combine your files
Check that each source is a valid, unencrypted PDF and is within the tool's displayed size and page limits. Rename files if that helps you recognize them, but remember that alphabetical filename order is not necessarily the sequence you want in the final document.
Merge in five steps
- Open the Toolmintly PDF merger and add your PDF files.
- Review the file list and available first-page previews.
- Use the move up and move down controls to set the intended document order. Remove anything you don't need.
- Merge and download the combined PDF.
- Open the downloaded PDF in a reader. Check the total pages, first and last pages, and transitions between files.
Does merging reduce a PDF's size?
Not necessarily. Merging joins pages, but it is not a compression technique. To test structural optimization after merging, try the PDF optimizer. It can reduce some files, but does not aggressively downsample scanned images and may not make every document smaller.
Are the original PDFs changed?
The result is created as a separate downloaded file; the source files on your device remain where they were. Basic page dimensions and rotation are preserved where supported. However, PDF signatures, interactive forms, bookmarks and advanced annotations can be affected by copying pages. For a legally important or signed document, verify whether merging is permitted before distributing the result.
What about password-protected PDFs?
Encrypted or password-protected PDFs may not be supported. Unlock a document only if you have the legal right and its password, using a trusted PDF editor. Do not treat a failed merge as proof the file is corrupted.
Does the tool upload my documents?
The core PDF merge happens in your browser, without intentionally uploading the selected PDFs to an application processing server. Required JavaScript and library assets are downloaded when the site loads. Review how Toolmintly handles files for details.
